About, method and disclaimer

Hamari Hawa is a free, non-commercial public-awareness project. It shows, in one place, what satellites and air-quality models say about fires, smoke and pollution over Pakistan and North India, so that more people understand the air they breathe.

In short: the numbers here are estimates built from public data. They are not medical advice, not official readings, and not evidence against any person. Use them to understand the problem, not to blame a neighbour.

How we handle gaps and clouds

Health numbers are estimates

City pollution comes from the Copernicus CAMS model via Open-Meteo, at roughly 11 km resolution. It is not a ground monitor and in winter it often reads lower than local sensors. The health figures apply published research averages to those model values:

These are population-level estimates with wide uncertainty. They say nothing about any individual. For your own health, speak to a doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
